13 Mar García-Alix conference at Photo Forum Fest Barcelona 2024

Alberto García-Alix is one of the speakers at Photo Forum Fest, the largest photography congress held in Europe and the second worldwide according to its organizers, and which will be held from 13th to 15th of March, 2024 at the Fira de Barcelona.

The festival counts with more than 3,000 square meters where will gather more than 50 brands and will house up to twenty photography exhibitions.

During the three days of the festival, there will be multiple presentations, talks and debates by different professionals in the field of photography. Alberto García-Alix’s conference will take place at 3:30 p.m. on Friday, March 15th, after which the photographer will sign copies of his latest book “Archivo Nómada” (Editorial Cabeza de Chorlito, 2023) at Casanova Foto’s stand.

García-Alix will discuss absence as a stimulus for creation: “The works of creation that are conceptually nourished by absence must be countless. It is shown in all its expressions: in music, sculpture, cinema, theater, performance… and in photography. Who is not moved, scared or hurt by absence? Who doesn’t have it present in its most expressive courtship, death? Photography is a certificate of presence, and with even more reason, it is about absence,” says the photographer.
